I respect Foley as much, if not more, than any other wrestler. I was sooooo happy when Cactus Jack went to Crockett/WCW, because I only got to see him once or twice before the station that carried World Class went kaput. That said, the cheesiness and cheap pops have diminished his legend a bit in my eyes.

I think it is a bit of a slap in the face to his career that they didn't use any ECW footage, or World Class. Also, WWE doing their best to shoe horn Sting into a montage where he looks bad. That prolly makes Vinces panties all gooey.

Backlund, I don't know. Everything you hear is he is a tremendous athlete, great technical wrestler, but did he really excite the crowds? Was he just a white meat babyface, and fans rooted against the heels he was up against more than FOR him?

Upon looking at his wiki, prior to his time in WWWF, Backlund worked with/for the Funks and the Briscos. I guess Vince Sr thought he had his version of Dory or Jack. Obviously not the best move as WWF was allegedly almost out of biddness by the time Hogan blew up on the scene.

I love "crazy-ass old man" Backlund of the nineties and beyond. Wasn't old enough to respect him in his prime, but thought he was great when he made his comback as a psychopathic loon.

I tell ya, Trish, yes - she is pretty, yes - she could give a good match, and yes - she certainly deserves to be in the HOF, but there is something missing that just never really allowed her to click with me. Not the fact that I never seen her titties. I think it is more depth of character.

Did she ever work as a heel? Maybe that is it. I have a tough time w/ white meat babyfaces.

As for Bruno, I hope this is an easing of the tension, rather than a one off deal. He should be doing Legends Round Table, DVD commentary, etc. It's like the Yogi Berra/Steinbrenner feud that kept Yogi from Old Timer's Day for like 20 years, or the current thing between Gretszky and the NHL.

Hell of a HOF class. Foley, Backlund, Trish, Bruno. All of them World Champs.

I wonder if getting her head dunked in dirty mop water and crawling around the ring crying and barking like a dog and banging vince while Linda lays incapacitated will be listed amoung her career accomplishments.
